Hi Walkers!

Our journeys take different forms. Each day is a new beginning for you to take steps towards your goals, advocate for your health, connect with others, or perhaps sometimes, just getting through the day. Congratulations to all who participated in the Portland to Coast Walk in Portland, Oregon this past weekend. Walkers Rule!

Noting the trend of increased childhood obesity and hard economic times, we feel that it is important as a community to support children and families in any way we can.

That's why we chose CASA of Central Oregon as our beneficiary for the Sisters Stride into Autumn. A portion of proceeds from this event will help CASA provide a volunteer advocate for every abused and neglected child in Central Oregon. Come walk with us in Sisters, not just for the beautiful walk, but also to contribute just a little bit to this great organization.

New this year for Sisters, an Open House at the Paulina Springs bookstore on September 19th at 6:30 pm.  All are invited for a free presentation by Judy Heller on

the wonders and health benefits of walking.  Sisters participants will receive a 20% off coupon good from September 18 - 20, 2009.

Our summer months are quickly passing as the season changes at the end of this month. I hope you are taking advantage of being outdoors, enjoying the light breezes and all that this time of year brings to us.
