Wonders of Walking Blog
Important Walking Information
Welcome to the Wonders of Walking Blog! Many of you have asked me to start a regular blog and I am very pleased to begin this journey. I hope you will join me! I encourage you to comment, interact and add your thoughts to mine, so that we may all learn from one another in the process.
First, I want to wish all of you participating in the Portland to Coast Walk Relay good luck and happy feet! My advice as a veteran of the race is to remember to listen to your body and think long term, and take care to stay healthy. Next, I’d like to ask you to share your experience and reflections with us! We would love to see photos from your adventure, as well as hear about your journey. Please post them to our Facebook page once you have sufficiently recovered and had a good night’s sleep!
Just think- how many creatures can move about the way we do- walking, jogging, skipping, skating, skiing, dancing, hiking, climbing, jumping rowing and cycling. There are endless choices for movement! During your next walk, ask yourself: “What are my favorite movement activities and why do I enjoy them?” Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, post to our Facebook page, or here on our blog in the comment section below.
What you choose to do should add to the quality of your life, not subtract from it. After your walk, ask yourself what you enjoyed most. Cherishing what you can do, instead of focusing on shortcomings, does wonders for the mind and body.
Walking is such a gift, don’t you agree? Happy Trails, friends.
