How do I build my Team?:

Bring your walking community to Sisters!  Gather at least 10 buddies to register as a team.  All team members will receive a $3.00 discount on their registration fee.  Teams do not actually need to participate in the event together, only register together.  Therefore, teams may have different age groups, runners and walkers together, competitive and non-competitive, even different distances.

The team with the most members will receive a first place team “flag”.

Recruit. Your team needs a minimum of 10 participants.  There is no maximum!  Team members may be friends, neighbors, family members, co workers etc.  Your team may consist of a mix of ages, fitness levels, walkers or runners (for 10K only).  Remember, teams don’t need to participate together, only sign up together.

Register. When you register your team, you must register the minimum 10 participants at once.  After initial registration, you may add more members at any time up to the team registration deadline September 6th, 2010.  You may register your team online, or use our paper registration forms and mail in.

The team leader is responsible for coordinating their team’s registration.  That includes collecting registration fees and paper registration forms for all members and mailing in to the WOW office.  If your team will be registering online, you need to register the team online prior to your members signing up.

Team members are responsible for registering online or filling out their paper registration forms and paying their registration fees.  All team members will receive a $3.00 discount on their registration fee.  Team members also pick up their race packets at one of the designated locations.

WALK!

Remember, teams are not required to participate in the event together, only register together.  Therefore, teams may have different age groups, runners and walkers together, competitive and non-competitive, even different distances (10K, 15K).

Course Highlights: The first half of the course is on asphalt roads; the latter portion is on forest roads and the Peterson Bike Trail. This is a dirt bike path. Wonders of Walking has a permit, but we do not have exclusive use of the trail. There may be bike riders on the course. Be aware.

The course will be marked with pink flagging tape and directional arrows.

As always, we are never quite sure of the weather. If dry, it may be cool and crisp in the morning and warming. The course will be dry.

If wet, the latter part of the course will be muddier. Keep the composition of trail in mind when selecting your shoes.
