Early Bird Training for Walking

What:  This 3 week session meets twice weekly, Tuesday Thursday mornings at 6:15 am. You will learn fitness, speed and racewalking techniques combined with strengthening exercies.

When:     February 9 - 25, 2010 6:15 am

Nordic Ski walking

Keep fit and feel great through all the winter months. Grab a friend and discover what is walking with poles.

What:

Nordic Ski Walk Class

Who: Walkers interested in having fun, playing in the park while walking with poles
Where: Willamette Park -- We will meet at the covered picnic area at the south end (past the tennis
courts). Turn right as you enter the park and drive to the south end. Parking is by the covered picnic area.

When:

Sunday, February 21, 2010; 1 pm - 2:30 pm

Portland & Victoria Half Marathon Training.

Training Program for Portland and Victoria Half Marathon on October 10, 2010.

WOW offers exclusive walk training programs for beginning to full fledged competitive walkers. As with the marathon, there is a competitive Racewalk and a Nordic walk division for the Portland Half Marathon

The WOW program for beginners will begin in April with the Spring session of the 5K, 10K, Half marathon training program (12 weeks), and roll into the June program (16 weeks).

The WOW program for seasoned walkers will begin in June.

Whatever your goal may be, this training program will help you reach it!  Train to walk with a group, bring your friends! Registration includes a customized training plan valued at $60.

Strength Training for Walking

Monthly walk training - meets second Sunday of the month

Do you want to be a fitter, faster, more fluid walker?  Would you like to stay fit during the winter months; build a base for a spring half marathon;, or, launch Spring with the Shamrock Run?

Register for our monthly training sessions.  If you are a competitive walker, racewalker or relay participant, this progressive training program is for you!
